LOTTE CENTER HANOI JOINS HANDS WITH LOTTE GROUP TO SUPPORT 3 BILLION VND TO OVERCOME SUPER TYPHOON YAGI’S CONSEQUENCES
18 member companies of LOTTE Group in Vietnam have jointly donated 3 billion VND through the Fatherland Front to areas affected by storm No. 3 Yagi, demonstrating their commitment to supporting the community in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and rebuilding people’s lives.
The recent storm Yagi has affected 26 areas, leaving behind many serious damages, more than 300 people dead and missing, about 260,000 houses damaged, and economic impacts of up to nearly 50,000 billion VND, according to preliminary estimates by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In order to join hands with the Vietnamese Government and the community to promptly support the people of the Northern provinces, recently, LOTTE Group and its typical member units such as LOTTE Center Hanoi, LOTTE Department Store, LOTTE Mall West Lake Hanoi, LOTTE Mart, LOTTE E&C, LOTTE Hotels, and LOTTE Rental, LOTTE Chemical, Daehong Communications jointly contributed 3 billion VND for disaster relief work.
LOTTE Group member companies in Vietnam met to support the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee.
The LOTTE Group and representatives of its member companies donated 1.6 billion VND from 10 member companies in Hanoi and 1.1 billion VND from 9 member companies in Ho Chi Minh City to the disaster relief fund on September 25 and 26, at the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) headquarters in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The donations were made through representatives of the VFF in each locality. Furthermore, Quang Ninh and Binh Duong, two more communities with LOTTE investment projects, would receive a donation of VND 300 million VND.

Since its establishment in Vietnam in 1996, LOTTE Group has continuously expanded its investment and actively participated in community activities. In 2020, LOTTE donated 3.7 billion VND to support Vietnam in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Then, in 2021, the group donated 10 billion VND to the Vietnamese Government’s vaccine fund, contributing to accelerating the vaccination progress nationwide. A highlight of LOTTE’s social responsibility activities is the TV program “Young Players”, which has been continuously deployed for the past 14 years, aiming to discover and train young Vietnamese football talents. The second version of the program was launched last month.

In 2023, LOTTE marked an important milestone with the opening of LOTTE Mall West Lake Hanoi, a modern commercial, service and entertainment complex that not only brings a new shopping experience to the capital’s residents but also creates thousands of jobs for local workers. A representative of LOTTE Group in Vietnam shared: “We would like to express our deepest condolences to the families affected by the storm. As a group that has been associated with Vietnam for nearly 3 decades, we not only focus on business but are always ready to join hands with the community to overcome difficulties. With the spirit of solidarity and continuous efforts, we believe that Vietnam will soon overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters, moving towards a better future.”
2024 is also the year LOTTE Center Hanoi marks its 10th anniversary of operations in Vietnam, constantly developing business activities while making efforts to support community activities.
LOTTE Group also committed to continuing to maintain social activities in the future, creating positive changes in many fields, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam.
